Some of my Favorite Time Quotes

Because Time Tracker for GSC-GTD is coming I have collected some of my favorite time quotes.

Here they are :)

And when is there time to remember, to sift, to weigh, to estimate, to total?

How long a minute is, depends on which side of the bathroom door you're on. ~Zall's Second Law

Time is neither friend nor enemy it's just a measurement.

One must learn a different... sense of time, one that depends more on small amounts than big ones. ~Sister Mary Paul

“Time is a created thing. To say 'I don't have time,' is like saying, 'I don't want to.” ― Lao Tzu

“You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” ― Charles Buxton

“Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have - so spend it wisely”

“Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time.”

“Defer no time, delays have dangerous ends.”

“Time can be a greedy thing-sometimes it steals the details for itself.”

“Suspect each moment, for it is a thief, tiptoeing away with more than it brings.” ― John Updike, A Month Of Sundays

“Time’s a goon, right? You gonna let that goon push you around?” Scotty shook his head. “The goon won.” ― Jennifer Egan

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

“Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. ”

“The strongest of all warriors are these two — Time and Patience.” ― Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

“The wisest are the most annoyed at the loss of time.” ― Dante Alighieri

“Time's the thief of memory” ― Stephen King, The Gunslinger

“Time will explain.” ― Jane Austen, Persuasion

“But now isn’t simply now. Now is also a cold reminder: one whole day later than yesterday, one year later than last year. Every now is labeled with its date, rendering all past nows obsolete, until — later of sooner — perhaps — no, not perhaps — quite certainly: it will come.”

“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”
― Dr. Seuss

“If you only had 48 hours left to live, would you spend it like you normally spend your weekends? If not, why spend 2/7th of your life wasting your free time? After all, free time isn’t free. Free time is the most expensive time you have, because nobody pays for it but you. But that also makes it the most valuable time you have, as you alone stand to reap the profits from spending it wisely.”
“If someone loves you, they should not be envious of you pouring your heart and soul and time and energy into the things that you are passionate about, but instead....they should love you MORE because you are so involved in those things.”
― Sharon Swan

And there you go ^_^

Always Remember, time is valuable. Use it wisely. And one of the ways to be able to utilize your time wisely is to be able to see what activities you've spent your time, how long you spent it on those activities, and adjust and plan how you'll spend it the next time :)

The new Macbook Pro

Apple just released the newest Macbook Pro last Monday. I'm not really an Apple fan but I greatly appreciate their products. I used an iPhone 3GS before settling down for an Android phone (currently Samsung Nexus) but I am planning to get an iPhone 4 or 4S soon. I briefly used a Macbook White before, then I used a 11" Macbook Air before settling down for a 13 inch Macbook Pro. My Macbook Pro is currently new, having bought it just last May 25, 2012. So why would I buy the new Macbook Pro or consider buying one? Is it worth the cost? Having seen it here. I was convinced I'd buy one at least someday/maybe. Being a software developer for mobile (Android and iOS right now) it was only fitting that I want the best gear I can have for my work :)

What made me want the new Macbook Pro?

- Certainly, just to add flare to my every working routine especially whenever I go to coffee shops to do some work and relax at the same time, I like the thinner Macbook Pro compared to the old Macbook Pro but I also don't want the thinnest of the Air since for me it looks too fragile for everyday work.

-SSD. 512GB third-generation SATA solid-state drive. Having experienced SSD on the Air before I am convinced it adds productivity to my work simply by being faster. Although I can make my current Macbook Pro an SSD I like the idea of a Macbook Pro with stock SSD.

What I don't think I need right now in the new Macbook Pro:

- the higher processor compared to my current Macbook Pro. my Macbook Pro has 2.3GHz intel core i5. I often look at and monitor my Macbook Pro's processor and RAM stats and usually just see my processor 80% idle most of the time, even when my program's are hanging! What I actually need is an upgrade of my RAM (currently I have 4GB, obviously I need to upgrade it to 8GB). I think 8GB will be enough to open either Eclipse or XCode together with Firefox and Chrome with several opened tabs for both browsers.
- Retina Display. I am pretty satisfied with the current Macbook Pro's display. The retina display would just be an added bonus for me.

Is it worth it?
- Just for the SSD and the thinner design? For me, yes. Since I use a laptop everyday for my work, it's not bad to pamper myself with it and work in style. I think it will actually make me instantly happier while working ;)
- Besides, I put it in "Someday/Maybe" of Things I want to Buy. So definitely I am not in a hurry to replace my just new purchased Macbook Pro. Right now, what I actually need is an upgrade to 8GB RAM :)

So for now, buying a new Macbook Pro is just in my "Someday/Maybe" :)

Do you have reviews on the new Macbook Pro? I'm interested to look at it :) drop me a link on the comments. Thanks!

Just Watched Manny vs Bradley

I've been excited over the past few days before the Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley. I entered it in my GSC-GTD on my Next Actions (on the "At Home" subtabs) with the schedule of the fight at June 10, 2012 9:30AM (Philippine time).

On the day of the fight, Sunday morning, I woke up just a little bit earlier. I, of course, remember that it's the day of the fight but since I still have time to do some more things after breakfast I browse on my GSC-GTD to look at things to do. I just did a little "Follow up GTD" stuff that I need to do. Then the time of the fight came and the alarm/schedule on my GSC-GTD went off. Time for some entertainment!

The fight was an upset as Bradley wins by split decision over Pacquiao. The scorecard was 115-113, 113-115, 115-113. They said Manny had the earlier rounds but he relaxed on the last 3 rounds. A rematch is now expected and I can't wait to watch it! It might happen this coming November. Can't wait :-)

Here, you can see a detailed blow by blow of the fight. What's next for Pacquiao? Will he fight Marquez again (after his rematch with Bradley)? Will the much awaited fight with Mayweather still be possible? But even Pacquiao's coach had said that if he ever lose this fight he himself will advise Pacquiao to retire. I watched the highlights of Manny vs Bradley fight later that evening.

Pacquiao had GTD (gone the distance). He doesn't need to prove himself anymore. He is very successful and the Filipino people and the world boxing industry will always be proud of him.
