The new Macbook Pro

Apple just released the newest Macbook Pro last Monday. I'm not really an Apple fan but I greatly appreciate their products. I used an iPhone 3GS before settling down for an Android phone (currently Samsung Nexus) but I am planning to get an iPhone 4 or 4S soon. I briefly used a Macbook White before, then I used a 11" Macbook Air before settling down for a 13 inch Macbook Pro. My Macbook Pro is currently new, having bought it just last May 25, 2012. So why would I buy the new Macbook Pro or consider buying one? Is it worth the cost? Having seen it here. I was convinced I'd buy one at least someday/maybe. Being a software developer for mobile (Android and iOS right now) it was only fitting that I want the best gear I can have for my work :)

What made me want the new Macbook Pro?

- Certainly, just to add flare to my every working routine especially whenever I go to coffee shops to do some work and relax at the same time, I like the thinner Macbook Pro compared to the old Macbook Pro but I also don't want the thinnest of the Air since for me it looks too fragile for everyday work.

-SSD. 512GB third-generation SATA solid-state drive. Having experienced SSD on the Air before I am convinced it adds productivity to my work simply by being faster. Although I can make my current Macbook Pro an SSD I like the idea of a Macbook Pro with stock SSD.

What I don't think I need right now in the new Macbook Pro:

- the higher processor compared to my current Macbook Pro. my Macbook Pro has 2.3GHz intel core i5. I often look at and monitor my Macbook Pro's processor and RAM stats and usually just see my processor 80% idle most of the time, even when my program's are hanging! What I actually need is an upgrade of my RAM (currently I have 4GB, obviously I need to upgrade it to 8GB). I think 8GB will be enough to open either Eclipse or XCode together with Firefox and Chrome with several opened tabs for both browsers.
- Retina Display. I am pretty satisfied with the current Macbook Pro's display. The retina display would just be an added bonus for me.

Is it worth it?
- Just for the SSD and the thinner design? For me, yes. Since I use a laptop everyday for my work, it's not bad to pamper myself with it and work in style. I think it will actually make me instantly happier while working ;)
- Besides, I put it in "Someday/Maybe" of Things I want to Buy. So definitely I am not in a hurry to replace my just new purchased Macbook Pro. Right now, what I actually need is an upgrade to 8GB RAM :)

So for now, buying a new Macbook Pro is just in my "Someday/Maybe" :)

Do you have reviews on the new Macbook Pro? I'm interested to look at it :) drop me a link on the comments. Thanks!
